iEAD enlightenment needed

iEAD help needed

Hi everyone,

I'm pending AOS (timeline in signature) and it turns out there's a terrific job in my field that was just advertised. No start-date is mentioned for the job and I'm hoping I'll be eligible to work before they need to hire someone. I should be eligible for an interim EAD starting November 26, i.e., 90 days after the receipt date of my application. I was under the impression one could just pick up the iEAD at an Infopass appointment after the 90 days, but I remember reading in these forums a few weeks ago that this is no longer possible. Can someone enlighten me more please? How do I go about getting an iEAD?

By the way, we haven't received an RFE yet (today is day 33) for any part of the application.

Too bad

Unfortunately, iEADs no longer exist. I have been to a District Office twice already with no results. Starting September 1, iEADs no longer apply, my suggestion is wait for the EAD to arrive soon, by the way, they process the form after you are done with your biometrics only.

Thanks so much, garrulito. I had absolutely no idea of this. Let's all hope that our EADs get adjudicated quickly -- as the USCIS claims they're attempting to do. I really hope the I-765s don't get stuck in name check for years on end.
