Went to SFO to get my iEAD. But, the IIO told me to come 3 days before current EAD expiration.....

485 RD - Jan 11th 2002
765 RD - Dec 11th 2002

- Reached INS office at 5.45 am.
- I was the 15th person in the queue.
- Entered inside at 6.30am
- Got the token and I was the 2nd person for EAD.
- First person got a call from one counter and I went to a diff counter at 6.50am
- After looking into my 485 receipt , he said , he can not give the EAD because, i have to complete 90 days after applying. then i told him, he is looking for a 485 receipt.
- He was trying to find out some excuse. Everything was ok, finally he said, he want see my current EAD. My current EAD is expiring on may 8th. He said it is too early, because 2 more months to go. actually there is only 1 month and 4 days. But he is counting it as 2 months.
- He said, according to rule and regulations, everything is ok, but he won't issue the iEAD. Come after 1 month.
- out by 7.10am without iEAD. I need to go again after 3 weeks.:o

- Asked him about 485 and 765 processing. but no good news. he just explained, whatever is there on website.

I should have get EAD, if I go to a diff counter....

Truly hard luck! I think the SJ INS office is much better. I think you can actually file a complain on this guy, if you can remember the counter number you were at.

Sometimes the worst of the INS case officers are the immigrants/born again Americans them selves. I have always been treated will by Americans at the INS offices. But the others are all horror stories!
