I had visited the INS Memphis service center to obtain my iEAD. My EAD renewal application filed at CSC has a receipt date that is over 90 days. Memphis issues iEADs only on Mondays.
Arrived at 6:45pm, and there were fifteen people in the queue already. The first floor suite doors opened around 8am, and after security check received a token number. The clerk/officer at the counter asked for the EAD receipt notice and gave a I765 form to fill. After stamping the form, he attached a $0 receipt and asked to proceed to the second floor.
Entered the 2nd floor suite at 9am, and there were more than 70 people already sitting in the waiting room. Dropped the paperwork in the open slot, and received another token number. Waited for about 2 hours, and my token number was called. They requested a photo ID (driver license, or passport), and had my picture taken. Got the iEAD in about half hour, and it is for the next 8 months.
