ID for biometrics

Hello guys,

I have an appointment tomorrow for biometrics. In the notice they say that I need to have a proper ID with me. Does anybody know if an expired passport (that's all I have) is good enough?

That will be fine.
 
You should take any ID which is NOT expired. A visa or a drivers licence or any state issue photo ID. I remember going to DMV with expired ID and they refused to accept that.
I would just suggest you to take one which is still valid.

Well , I don't have anything valid. That 's the problem. My driver's license has expired. I couldn't renew it or get a state ID because they don't accept expired passports.
And I could't renew my passport either because my country's embassy in USA do not renew passport if your visa expires. It's like a circle. So, now I can't get fingerprints taken or get a green card?
 
I would say just go there with whatever you have (like Student ID, employee ID, EAD etc.). Also, carry your expired passport, EAD and I-485 receipt along with appointment letter.

Ema76, Hi!
Some embassies won’t renew passport, if visa expired, unless you are a LPR and can show them your GC. My NP expired as well, long time ago. Can’t renew it ether. :eek:

Just take whatever you have – one expired passport and one expired DL will do in your case. Make sure to bring your FP/BIO appointment letter and/or I-485 receipt with you as well.
 
Hi Jane !

I had the change to renew my french passport without problems at the French Consulate in Chicago. I just brought the NOA showing my pending status for AOS and she said she will just renew it for 1 year. Then, when I came to file and paye the fee, she told me she was gonna gave me a passport for 10 years !! I was shocked of joy !!! :eek: :D

Thank you ,guys, for all your recommendations and support.

I had my fingerprints taken with expired passport. That appeared not to be a problem at all. Nobody even mentioned anything to me.
