When a person is inside the ICE detention jail and he makes a phone call the system record his conversation my question is who listen to those conversation and it is legal to use any recording conversation against the inmate and for how long do they keep the recording after the inmate get released?

Yes all conversations in jail are recorded and turned over to the arresting agency upon request it could be ICE, US Marshalls etc, and is reviewed by the investigating officer and if has any value then the prosecuting attorney.
They can be used for prosecution purposes and do not have a limitation where it has to be done with the consent of one party on the line for using as a evidence in a trial.
They are kept in the evidence box for a very long time in case the inmate would like to appeal the outcome of the case whether released or not.
