I am confused right now.
at the USCIS efiling website ist says:

You MUST contact the BCIS National Customer Service Center, if instructed to do so on your Confirmation Receipt notice, at 1-800-375-5283 [TTY 1-800-767-1833] to schedule an appointment with your local Application Support Center using your Confirmation Receipt notice or your official Receipt Notice (I-797). The Application Support Center will collect a digital photograph, signature, and fingerprint from you at your appointment.

I have to call those guys to make an appointment??
What I know is, they send you an letter with your appoinment!

Maybe this is new now??

What is the receipt number?
the number after completing efiling I90 or the notice what I will get later
via mail??
Who has infos??

Don't worry about it. It does seem very confusing. You will soon receive a receipt and followed by a fingerprint notice letter seperately. The receipt shows your case number and the fingerprint notice tells you where/when to go for the prints. You bascially only need to bring your GC (which will be returned back to you immediately) and ID (or passport). After the fingerprint, you simply just wait to receive the new GC. Just keep the old GC, I don't think they care about it.

Alright!
One thing I would like to know.
Do they extend the validity of my old Green Card, or I must go via infopass
to uscis in order to get a stamp in my passport.

I am asking because I will need to travel during this process.

thanks

As far as I know, you may need to through the infopass and obtain a stamp on the passport. The fingerprint center is what they call ASC (application support center) which I believe is a sub-contract company that does only the fingerprints. They don't represent USCIS so they can't do anything to extend the GC expiration date.

However, I wonder what could actually happen if someone enters the POE with an expired GC? Because GC is solely a prove of the status. An expired GC doesn't mean this person's status is not valid. Of course, I am not saying you should try this option, but I am just posting the question to someone who may know the answer. By the way, keep us posted on your infopass experience if possible.
