I551 stamped, Is transit visa required

Got plastic card for self.
however for spouse no plastic card yet, got I551 passport stamp only.

While stamping BCIS Officer told me that I551 is good for travelling.
We are travelling to India by AirIndia via Frankfurt(Germany).
I read several posting about transit visa discussion and Just wanted to make sure If spouse/I need to have transit visa for Germany.
Anybody with similar experience, please post.

No.. You don't need Transit Visa for Frankfurt if you have I-551 stamp in your passport..
 
I am not from India, but I asked the consular office and they said you need to get visa without actual card at hand. Not sure how it works for India.
