Today I got mail from USCIS saying - my and my wife's case are transferred to San Antonio Local office
to schedule an Interview. Scheduling interview can take months. San Antonio Office will contact you
about it.

Guys, How long does it take to schedule an interview ?
I never received any REF. I am with the same company for last 4 years, no change in address.
Is this a good news ?

Pl. let me know.

Thanks,

tugrad,

When did you and your wife FP?

Hope for the best...and please keep us posted...

FP for both was done in May 2003.

Before the transfer message - the case status was " We received your fingerprints and processing
on your case has been resumed."

Well, let's hope for the best.

TSC is currently approving March to May 2003 FPs.

It would be interesting to know reasons for transfer.

Can any of the gurus out there list the many reasons for transfer instead of outright approval?

Good luck...

1. Officer needs to clarify some info in the petition/documentation provided
2. Needs to ensure that you are the same person
3. Reduce backlog at the center
4. Close the case with approval and stamping at the same time
5. Missing some documentation .. something minor for which an RFE was not necessary
...

FOR KICKS !! or FOR NO APPARENT REASON (like in my case)

The list can go on ...
