In the past a few months I have been a silent visitor to this forum. This forum has been really helpful. Thanks to everyone who shared their experience.
My case was approved on Jan. 6, 2005. I-140 priority date is Aug. 1st, 2002, EB1-2 at VSC, approved in April 2004. I-485 RD is 10/13/03, Fingerprinting was done on 11/04/04, no LUD before or after fingerprinting, until it was approved on Jan 6, 2005.
Dependant who is 13 got the plastic card on Jan 24, 2005, bypassed passport stamping and sending the new style of photos. On the card it is shown the old styled photo of ¾ front face, without a fingerprint. It’s valid for 10 years.
Spouse's case is pending.
Did passport stamping at 2:00pm on Jan. 26, 2005 in Syracuse of NY. It went smoothly and took about 10 min to have everything done. It seems 2:00pm appointment is right after the lunch break. When I was almost done, some people came in and the room became somehow crowded. After the PP was done, at my request, the officer checked the status of my spouse’s case and told me that it was stuck somewhere for background check which would go through various departments and would take up to two years.
I followed the instructions I got from this forum and took the following documents:
Infopass appointment printout, approval notice, 2 photos with #A and name written on back, all I-94, and AP. Though I also brought other materials, the officer wasn’t interested.
My hands are usually very dry with crackles. Just a few days before the fingerprinting, several finger tips didn’t have clear fingerprints. So I went through intensive hand care by using True Blue SPA gloves and hand cream purchased from Bath & Body works. Believe it or not, every a few hours I could see the improvement on my fingerprints. If you don’t want to spend too much for the SPA gloves, Latex gloves might help also.
