I485 interview

Please share experiences on what is the criteria for being asked to come to an interview. Are there people who got I485 approved without an INTERVIEW?

I filed my I-485 in September 2004, and was never called in for an interview. I got worried about that - but then found out from people in this forum and my congressman's office that some people don't get called for an interview if for one reason or another the case looks solid and they believ they can fast track the application without an interview. (...I came over on a K-1 fiance visa, so I had already submit proof of no criminal record, finanical stability, etc. before I was approved to enter the US - plus, I had already had an interview at the US embassy in my country before receiving the K-1 visa).

I haven't been approved yet - but just wanted to share that it does look like sometimes you can get approved without an interview. (And as far as "fast-tracking" - well, I don't think those two words exist at USCIS).

Please share your experiences here. This is an important part of the final process of GC. Let's help each other. Thank you

We have not been called for an interview as yet but from I have read on this forum, most likely we could be called, since we got married 3 weeks before we filed our 485s. Usually in such cases they call for interviews to see if the marriage was authentic or not.

It depends mostly on the category of your I-485, if this is a family-based case, most probably you will have an interview. If this is employment-based, depends if they approve you from Service Center (then no interview), or decide to transfer your case to a local office (then most probably you will have interview, but in some cases not, search local office pending cases in threads on this website).
