my I485 is in final stage of processing and my current compnay is merged to other firm. My question is that do I need to notify/amened INS about this or don't need?
In my case my company merged with other company. Only company name changed but taxId remains same. So My lawyer filed I-140 Amendment.
My I-485 details
Rd: 05/24/2002

My I-140 Amendment details:

You have to file I-140 Amendment depending on merge if you are in I-140 or I-485 stage..
In my case my lawyer told its not needed according to current INS rules but he did for precautionary (in case if law changes in future.. who knows when INS changes its rules...)
Talk to your lawyer for full advise.

Here are some good articles on Company Mergers and Acquisitions.... My company mergerd with its sister concern and adopted the name of its siter concern, in my case the attorney did'nt file I-140 amendment, but instead attached a sworn statement(Affidavit) from Vice President-HR explaining about the companys re-organization and adoption of DOL related liabilities
from old merged company. I'm also waiting for approval.
