I485 holding

Hi,
I met with some problem about my wife's I485.
My wife applied for her second EAD three months ago,but still did not get her EAD card. So we went to the local office to apply for an interim EAD.But
an officer there told my wife that they could not issue her a temp EAD because a hold was placed on her I485. What they could see is there is a hold in I485 and it seems they sent my wife a letter a year ago asking for additional information. But we did not get any letter.They told my wife to write a letter to the Nebraska center to ask. Have anyone met with the same problem? I also applied for my 2nd EAD a month ago before my wife's,without any problem.Isn't it weird?

It sounds like they sent an RFE and your attorney never received it ?!?!

If so, don't delay any further - contact your attorney and have them speak with USCIS. Maybe they can resend the RFE.
I've heard that not responding to an RFE within a timely manner is grounds for automatic denial of the application - so don't delay it.

Maybe there was no RFE on your 485 ... that's why you got the EAD - nothing says that RFEs should come for both applications.
