I485 Fax enquiry for FP Expiring - Any Update

Any INS updates for folks whose finger printing are expiring after 15 months

I've got exactly 90 days to complete 15 months since FD. I asked my lawyer to send a fax inquiry and he said he would be sending an inquiry but then changed his mind to wait and see as I responded to RFE in Nov.

email inquiry ?

A friend told me that now we can do case status inquiry on email as well. Is this true?

Even if true, is the email same as calling an IIO or is it really same as fax inquiry?

My lawyer did the e-mail inquiry but I have not heard back any thing from lawyer, I mean my lawyer did not get any response for her e-mail. I am not sure how much true it is.
