Background:

My employement based labor certification was approved on June 2004. In August 2004, I applied for concurrent application was filed for I-140 and I-485. My I-140 was approved in Feruary 2005. My file was transferred from Nebraska Service Center to local Detroit office on June 2005.

I changed my employer and moved to South Carolina on July 18 2005. On July 18, 2005, I submitted AR11 for myself and for my wife. I called USCIS on July 18 to change address in my file (I-485). On the same day I wrote a letter to Detroit INS about the change of address. I have all the postal receipt.

On september 27th my attorney got a letter from local Detroit INS saying that my and my wife's case was denied since we did not show up for the interview on 20th september. None of us (me and my attorney) get a interview notice.

Moreover, on September 15th, 2005, being concerned about the delay of interview, I went to local South Carolina (Greer) INS office to enquire about my case and Greer office put a request to Detroit to transfer my file to Greer office. I have the proof of that too.

On October 12, My attorney in Detroit filed a MTR to local Detrot office, since the system shows the file is still in Detroit. However, my attorney has a email from a supervisor of Detroit office that he has transferred my file to Greer on October 7th.

Questions:

1. Does anybody know how long it takes to reopen the file?
2. If the supervisor in Detroit office says he has transferred the file to Greer, why it does not show up in the system and what could have happened and what should I do in this regard?
3. Any suggestion in anyway regarding my issue?
