My I-485 is at the Boston office where I was interviewed in Feb (case pending name check). I also have a pending 7th yr H1-B petition and am approaching the 240 day deadline (exisiting H1-B VISA expired in Jan 06). So its imperative for me to get the EAD renewed on time cos I might have to change my work status from H1-B to EAD. So my questions are:-
1) Once the interview is done and the case is still pending name check, would Boston send my file back to Vermont?
2) Where should I send my EAD renewal petition?
3) I am leaning towards filing online and am wondering if the online software is smart enough to send the application and request documents to the correct location (given that my I-485 is at Boston).
Last year I filed my renewal online and I had send documents to Missouri Service Center - received the renewed EAD without any hassles. But there is still enough confusion around where to send the EAD for people in my situation and since I'm approaching the 240 day H1-B deadline, I don't want to take any chances.
Has anybody in a similar situation filed online recently with success?
