-Wanted to let everyone know that a couple of days back I received e-mails from USCIS alerting me that my 485 (and my wife's) has been approved and that they have sent the approval notice
-Still waiting to receive the notice
-The online case status tracking system showed the approved status
-Thanks to everyone on this forum for posting info and keeping everyone else updated on the progress of their cases...really helped me during the long wait.
-I would also urge one and all to make some contribution--monetary or otherwise--to the efforts being propogated by immigrationportal.org. Immigration reform in the U.S. is very difficult to occur without having our voices heard and having a lobbying force and a formal forum to amplify the voices of legal immigrants in this country is an important step to better our lives in the U.S. Even after getting a green card, our lives are affected in very many ways by immigration laws and if we don't ardently support efforts for reform we will ultimately be adversely affected.
-Good luck to everyone here...there's light at the end of the tunnel!
