Hi all,
I am glad that my I485 got approved recently through a small consulting company through lab-substitution.
I never worked for that company, and that employer wants me to join them immediately since my I485 is approved and is threatening to report to USCIS that I have no intention to join them and revoke my GC.
I have few commitments with my current company and cannot join the sponsoring company at this point of time. I asked to give me some time, but they r not willing to wait.

Experts please advice...

Thanks,
T

While they have every right to do that, try explaining the situation to them and ask them for sometime so you can finish your commitments….may be 3 months? I do believe you should at least work for that company minimum of 6 months…after all they sponsored your GC…my 2 cents

Has it been more than 6 months since you filed I485?

I think, in that case...one can probably use AC21 and claim that got a similar job with new company....and that you changed your intent from joining that employer to this new employer....

Better talk to the lawyer...

But, I would say...just go on and work for the GC sponsoring company...for 6 months or more...

Hi,
I posted the above post on my friend's behalf. I just copied his mail here. Thanks for all the responses. They were helpful. I have advised my friend to join the sponsorship company. He was given 2 days to quit his current company and join the sponsor and he wanted 4 weeks.

thanks,
T
