I just received a fax copy of my I485 approval notice. Spouse application received an RFE for medical. I140 application was approved for CP, but applied for AOS.

Approval Notice Date: 5/2/2002

I learned on 3/12/02 that Chennai consulate still has my I140 and they
did not receive any request from NSC to send that back to them. Don\'t know when things moved, but they did!!!!

people like me with RD 12/2000, no RFE, till last week Chennai
has not receieved any request from INS. NVC did not receive
any request either.
So, unless a miracle happens at NSC
 
RFE received today only

We received the RFE for my wife\'s application and the approval for my application TODAY. So we will need to see the medical examiner and have her medical form redone and send it in the next few weeks. As of March 12th, NVC did not receive any request from NSC for my I140 and when the lawyer\'s office contacted Chennai consulate (March 12th), they replied by email with the following:

The INS has not yet sent any request for the same, so it has not been
transferred.
---------

Then the lawyer\'s office suggested that I follow-up on this via local congressman/senator office. I contacted our HR and requested them to initiate an inquiry from employer\'s perspective regarding the status of my application. I wanted to give it one more month before going down the rabbit-hole of congressman/senator/.... To my pleasant surprise, today I got the note from lawyer with the news.

Can you plase send an email to Chennai Consualte today and
post the reply from them?
That will help us if really INS requested the I140 file or not.
My I140 was sent to Chennai on 20th July 2000.
I had asked chennai more than 3 time over last 6 months.
Each time the reply was \'No request yet from INS\'.

If you give your I140, they will send an email next day.
Atleast, they are very prompt, as against NSC.

I really appreciate your help here. That goes a 1000 mile long.

As I posted before we received RFE for my wife\'s medical. We sent the RFE information on May 14th by certified post. AVM acknowledged on May 20th that they received the information. Today, we heard on the AVM that her case is approved on May 24th. Waiting to receive the approval notice.....

Finally the waiting is over.
