I485 Approval--WHEN????

I got married with my husband in April 2004--after his 2nd RFE. We filed for my application on July 8 and I went for my first finger print two weeks after that. He got his GC approval couple days ago. I was told that my application will be approved together with his. Is that true? Pls advice..Thank you sooooo much!!!
 
not necessary, becuase every I-485 application is independent.

but you can hope your application will be approved pretty soon. as it is derivative.

I was told that it will get approve soon--however, this is the thing that makes my life miserable--I have been checking the status zilion times a day and I am having some sleepless nite--dreaming about receiving the approval notice. hahaha...LOL

Does anyone know what's the timeline on average?? Will they ask me for an interview since I file my case very close to my husband's approval?

Your application has to go through the finger pring and name process, it is taking some time.
you should hear something in few weeks.
 
I know a couple with a similar case - It took 11 extra months to get the derivative visa approved.

I hate to say this but i suspect your case would be transferred to your local office for interview. This happened to a friend of mine after he got married few months after he filed his I-485.

This is just my guess and I hope I am wrong.

I dont think you should be worried much. As you have filed I-485 you are entitled for AP, EAD and any other benefits which comes with it. Eventually you will get GC but they may transfer your case to the local office to interview you about the marriage.

Pardon my rudeness, but you filed your I-485 in July 04, and are worried about why it is not approved till August ? You are extremly lucky that you were able to file before his approval. Had you been one or two months late, you could have had a wait of 4 years atleast !! Remember most of us here started our GC process in 2001 or 2002, and are still waiting !!

You are extremely lucky as you should get the approval within the next few months. In the meantime you can get the AP and EAD and start using them.

You are right. I am worry too much. I just want to know the timeline and from other experience how's my case works. Is always good to know? My husband waited more than 3 years for his..Oh well..I guess I just have to wait..Thank you for the response. Good luck with your application
 
to make you feel better i am getting close to my 29th month and my case is still dangling at NSC. you should consider yourself lucky that you were able to file your petition with the hubby AND you dont have to take few years of anxiety to become green.

BTW, GREEN party rules!! I am EB3RIR_MO and I approved this message.
