I am a June 2001 I485 filer, and naturally I am expecting an approval now, I got married three weeks a go, so correspondingly my spouse is eligible for follow-to-join benefits. But my lawyer said that he would want to send the copy of my marriage certificate to Vermont INS right now, to be attached to my case, saying that it would make subsequent follow-to-join processing easier. Is it correct? Is there any risk that it would delay and lengthen the processing of my case?
