I485 and F-1

Guys would really appreciate your advice...
1 ) My spouse is currently filing for an EAD(Optional Practical
Training) since he has finished school and is on a F-1 Visa. Would
applying for the I-485 related EAD affect his EAD application or can he go ahead and apply for his OPT EAD ?
2) He would be looking for jobs soon. Will he be able to make a
H-1 petition once his name has been added to the 485 EAD ?

There is a request for OPT that already exists in the electronic
version of the SEVIS system for my husband though he has not
actually mailed out the OPT application to the service center(by
the way, his OPT application goes to the Texas Service Center).
I wanted to know if request for OPT in SEVIS would affect
anything ?
In the case that he will not be able to apply for his OPT EAD,
what are the options for him to be able to work before the 485
EAD comes through ?
Could his name be added to the 485 EAD later, so can he go
ahead and apply for the OPT EAD right now ?

1) All he needs to work is the EAD (or the H1B- will come to that in a second), the EAD can be obtained based on the F1 or the 485.

2) The moment you apply for the 485 the F1 status is gone - so the OPT EAD goes as well.

3) Yes, he can apply for a H1B.

4) If i were you - i would go for the 485 AOS and use the EAD to look for work
