I got my labor certificate and I-140 approved last year through the employment category. I am planning to file Green Card now in marriage to a US citizen category. How should I answer the question on Form 485 - "Have you ever applied for permanent resident status before." Does getting the I140 approved in the employment based category make the answer "yes" or is it still a "No".
 
Answer YES, say that you have an approved I-140, and list the I-140 receipt number (and I-485 receipt number, if you filed an employment-based I-485). Otherwise you may get delays if they discover your I-140 late in the process.

If you got an A# from the I-140 or I-485, write that A# in the appropriate section on page 1.
