I140 Expiration

I just got the I140 approved in the EB1 category.But I like to apply I485 on it after 2 years.Can I do that? Does the approved I140 expires?Is there any time frame within which I have to apply I485 on that approved I140.
Please Help!!!

140 is employer's....

I140 is employer's petition. What is the gurantee that your job is going to be there for 2 years when you can apply 485 on this 140 ? If you leave the job, the employer can withdraw the 140 petition and use the underlying labor for some other employee.


Btw. why do u want to wait 2 years for 485 ?

Because I have another I485 going on thru my wife.This is a backup.If anything happens I will file for I485 on MY approved I140.iT MAY BE 2 years or so if needed.

If you have opted for CP in 140 application, then file for CP instead of AOS.

If you opted for AOS in 140 application then it is upto u, if u are paying ofr 485 application than no point wasting money. If company is paying for 485 then go ahead and file it. It may happen that ur. 485 is approved much faster than ur. wife's due to pilot programs in some service centers.
