Feb-06-2004 INS received my I140 and I485 application (concurrent)
Oct-21-2004 Request for Evidence notice for my I140
Dec-06-2004 I140 approved

So it took exactly 10 months, from Feb to Dec. It could've been faster if there was no request for further evidence. There is no new about my I485 yet (no word about fingerprinting either).

Congrats!!!!!!!
What is RFE about? and how long it took to get apporved once your responded

Thanks!

They requested everything: the company's federal tax return (2003), my tax return (2001-03), and copies of my university transcript (even though we originally filed the credential evaluation and a copy of my diploma).

It took exactly 1 week to get approved after they received my response. (11/29/2004: notice of receipt, 12/06/2004: approval).

For those who file for I140, I recommend the following. Send more than the bare minimum. It's a good idea to send your college transcript, and if the company is not in a perfect financial shape, even your last 4 paycheck stubs. It doesn't cost anything to include a few extras. Good lawyers know that and they prepare a little bit more paperwork than the absolute minimum.

Also, I suffered a delay of 3 extra weeks , because somebody misprinted my lawyer's address on the RFE notice, and it could not be delivered (was returned to INS). So they resent it directly to my personal address, which was fortunately correct.

W-2 and 1040 as well. Federal only, no state. They didn't ask for paycheck stubs, though. And the company's tax returns had to be signed by CFO/President.
