Guys

Lat week, my I140 (EB2) got approved from TSC . RD is 06/09/04. Feeling lucky to get in 6 months time :D . Just want to share with you guys.

I have not yet filed 485. I want to file it after 6 months. I am planning to get married in 2ndhalf of 2005 and file 485. How long I can keep I140 without filing 485? Please advise.

Thanks and good luck to all you guys.

As long as you can keep the job that got you the 140. Remember the day you lose the job, and you have not filed 485, you will lose that 140 also. So you would be better off filing 485 and then adding your wife later. You can delay 485 a bit in the process by rescheduling the FP a couple of times but don't wait dude.

If retrogression hits EB2 ( which it might), you will be a toast.

what is retrogression...?

I have seen couple of guys using this word. Will_be_there can you explain the meaning of it.

Sub labor EB2
140 RD - 11/24/2003 - Approved
485 RD - 11/24/2003
EAD - Approved
AP - Approved
FP - 09/15/2004

Thanks for your replies. I wish I file 485 and go ,get married and come back. As you told I can skip FP to delay aproval. But we don't know about these TCS guys. They may suddenly approve 485 even without FP  . Then I am gone. They throw it on your face when you least wanted it. :D So I want to file 485 just before going out with AP in hand.

As you told EB2 also may retrogess any time. But I am taking chances here.
I am with friendly Desi consultancy company. They will be happy to keep I140 longer without 485 ( they know I may jump if I get GC., so more delay, more money they get out of me  ).

I wish you guys get GC soon and enjoy freedom,

Thanks,
