I140 approved - Layoff in 3 weeks - choices please.

Hi

My neighbor with EB3 got his 140 approved. His present contracting is about to lay him off 3 weeks (on bench now). He is hoping to get a project from another company in his area of expertise. What are his CHOICES to continue his green card using the AC21 rule?

Should he ask his previous company to apply for I485 as future company. Would that be OK?
And he pays the attorney fees.
 
find another job in VSC and NSC regions, and reapply I-140, you will get approved very quickly, then
