Pl helps me to understand EAD issue:

I am currently on H1B visa. Once I receive the EAD card does that mean my H1B status is gone or

EAD comes in effect once I start to utilize that by getting new job on the EAD or some other means. (In this case even though I am having a physically card with me but my H1B status remains valid if I don't start any new job on that card)

Just to confirm in case of second option true and my I140 or I 485 reject I remain on valid H1 B visa

In order to come under the umbrella of EAD, you should use EAD to prove your authorization to work in the US. You can do that with either a new employer or your current employer. If you take up an additional job using EAD, you lose H status and need to use EAD in all your jobs. To activate EAD contact the HR dept. and file a new/amended I-9 form with HR.
