Hi all, any information or enlightenment is greatly appreciated.

Here is my friends case, He applied I140, in june 2002 and I485 in sep 2002.

Got EAD, and finger prints done. Now he got laid off.

Now what should he do. Is his EAD still valid and can he go get a new job using EAD. and still continue the process with new company.

Please suggest what will be the best to do now.

He can still proceed with new job based on EAD and request the sponsoring employer to continue with the green card if he is not going to revoke his 140 or discontinue the process and inform it to INS. I know one of my friend doing that

He/she should try to find a new, similar full time job ASAP. It would be ideal if that job could transfer the H1-B, just in case something happens with the GC case.

After 180 days of I-485 filing, the lawyer should send an AC21 letter to INS.

EAD should be valid until I-485 gets approved / denied.

Hi,
What you explained seems exactly the scenario in my case. My I-140 is also in june and 485 in sep (02). I recieved the EAD and now gonna use the EAD to work for another company. My first company is still willing to proceed with my I140 and 485.

Ideally I would want them to transfer the H1B but that doesn;t seem possible at this moment.

Will just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
