Hi,

Any one with similar situation or know something about this process, please share with me what you know/heard.

Someone told me that as a US citizen he applied for a petition to sponsor his wife (who is living oversees in Jordan; the I130 application was submitted in the USA and got approved. The approved application got transferred to the American Embassy in Jordan for visa processing. However, when he went to check on his wife's visa with the Embassy, he was told that he needs to come back in one year! He was told that this is new procedure!!! His understanding that he should not have to wait any longer, definitely not for a year.

That is all I have based on what I was told.

Is there more waiting time at the consulate once the file gets transferred?

Thanks.

I heard a strange story and wanted to confirm it. Someone told me that a and got approved. The approved application got transferred to the American Embassy in one year! They were told that this new procedure!!!

Now I am not 100% sure of this story and do not want to believe it, I also do not have enough facts, so you are welcome to speculate. But I want to confirm my earlier understanding that once you are citizen and your wife's i-130 has been approved and transferred to the consulate there is no more waiting, can you confirm this and be shed the light on what might have happened in the above story given the info I just provided.

Thanks.

What is the story? what is the problem? What is your question?

zzeros,
I am not familiar with this "procedure". i think they want to mess with you just like they did with your naturalization man. I lived in jordan for awhile, and we had to deal with the american embassy there. They were professional yet strict. if you have a yahoo, PM me so we can discuss this further.
