Hello everyone, I filed for I-130 in october of 2000. Only today I checked my status online and saw this:" On December 3, 2004, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service."
I'm very confused . Can anyone help me and tell me what this means? also my priority date is october 10th,2000. Can anyone predict when I should be done waiting?
thanks alot for any help.

What is your category? Did you receive I130 approval notice? Typically, CIS forwards approved petition to NVC for further consular processing. This is stated in your approval notice. If your priority date for your family preference category is not current per the Visa bulletin, NVC holds it till it is close to becoming current. Then NVC will send you documents for next steps. NVC will send documents to petitioner and beneficiary at the addresses listed in I130.

You should try to ensure whether NVC has received your approved petition. You can find out by calling them and giving your I130 receipt #. Then ensure that your addresses are current.

If you are planning to do AOS in USA, then you can file I485 package with USCIS provided your priority date is current.
