I130 approval time period

Hi,

My Wife ( GC Holder) applied I130 for me in june last year( over 16 months now). haven't heard anything yet regarding the approval of our case.

do it takes this much time?
is there anybody similar to our case?
am from India and living in India

Since your wife is just a green card holder, i believe this will take around 2 years for I-130 to be approved. Afterwards, you will have to wait another 3 years for your visa to become available and probably another 6 month to process paperwork with National Visa Center before dealing with your consulate for a visa to be scheduled, which can be another 3 to 12 months depending on what consulate you have to deal with.

However, if your wife becomes a US Citizen, she can update your case and save you the visa waiting time period.
