I was laid off from company A on April 1, 2006 and started working for company B on May 23, 2006. Company A paid 5 weeks severance, so I have all the required paystubs and there is no gap paystub-wise. Company A's experience letter says last date to be April 1, 2006 and they are firm on their decision not to change that.

Thus technically I wasnt working for April 1, 2006 till May 23, 2006. Will this be a problem while stamping? I received the offer letter from company B on April 27, 2006 and my H1 was filed (fedex receipt) on May 12.

Would it be safer to get the visa stamped in Mexico / Canada instead of New Delhi for my case?

I'd very much appreciate your 5 minutes on this.

Eagerly waiting for your responses.

Did you get new H1-B approval notice with I-94?
You should be ok regarding the visa stamping from New Delhi.

Please verify details with your attorney/lawyer.

Yes I received the new H1B approval notice in August, 2006 with I-94 with an expiry of March, 2009. So can I fill the actual employment dates in ds-157? and later explain the situation during the interview?

I remember submitting the experience letter from company A stating the last date with them to be April 01, 2006, for the H1 transfer to comany B.
