i want to check the Status of travel document

i applied for the travel document on Feb 2005, i never received a receipt from the immigration. i requested the travel document to be sent to the US embassy abroad. i check with the embassy they never received it. i try to call the INS hoping for an answer but no one answer. how can i check if it approved or denied. please help

Did you write a personal check? If yes then you can ask the Bank to give you a copy of front and back of cancelled check. There is receipt number on back of the check.
