I sent my IRS transcript with my N400, do I need to bring other copies to my interview?

Hey guys. So I sent an IRS transcript with my N400 application but I was wondering if I need to bring the same transcripts, basically request new copies, to the actual interview? Don't they already have all of those since I sent them with my n400 application? I actually only have 1 day so there is no way to request them, but I was just wondering and wanted to make sure I am prepared to answer the question - why didn't you bring them. Thanks!

Are you applying with the 3-year or 5-year rule? If it's the 5-year rule, they usually don't ask for tax transcripts unless you have traveled extensively or have tax issues like unpaid taxes or unfiled returns.

Even if you sent them with the application, it's still a good idea to bring them with you to the interview in case USCIS misplaced them. But if you're applying with the 5-year rule, they probably won't care about your tax transcripts anyway.

Not to hijack the thread but have a related qusetion, I requested Tax Return Transcripts online and received them in the mail. They look like three pages per year. Are these the Tax return transcripts? They have the important information but they are not exact copy of the actual returns that I filed with IRS.

In other words, they have all the information that would be on a return but they seem to have generated from IRS internal computer system with things like "Dependenat 1" and instead of the full name has "ABC" (first three initial of the dependant).

Did I request the wrong type?

That's what the tax return transcripts look like. It's just a few pages with a line-by-line listing of dozens of numbers pulled from the tax return; it doesn't look anything like the 1040.

Just make sure it says "Tax RETURN transcript" and not "Tax ACCOUNT transcript".

Thanks JackoLantern! It does say Tax Return Transcript. I was able to request for last four years online no problem and each year's tax return transcripts are about two pages printed double sided. In addition there was a letter from IRS simply acknowledging that they received the request and enclosed are the requested transcripts.
