Ok, great !! 10 days after the interview, I received the GC, not bad, ha ... :D :D :D ???
Here's my timeline :
Sent AOS Package Chicago LockBox: April 27th 2005 (exactly 4 years after I came in the US and stayed for good)
Receive Date : April 28th 2005
Notice Date : May 25th 2005
FP & Bio : July 5th 2005
EAD card received : July 12th 2005
Interview letter received : December 23th 2005 (my son's), December 26th 2005 (mine)
Date of interview Chicago DO: February 22nd 2006
GC received : March 4th 2006

I am happy !! I had the feeling that I would have the interview in 2006 and before 1 year after filling the paperwork ... and I was right !!!!
Good luck to everybody else who's waiting for the interview or the fbi clearance (name check). Don't be discouraged !!

Congratulations ! I'm happy for you.

We all hope you'll hang around here for some time and support us with your knowledge, expertise and experience. And maybe we'll meet again later at the citizenship forum.

All the best for you and your family. A bientot.

Thanks all ;) !!
I will be around these boards, of course !! :D I can't live without them, :p and after a couple of years, I see you all in the Citizenship board.
I just hope this process is not as complicated as the AOS process  !

Hi everybody. You are luckier than I am. I had my Green Card interview on February 10, and after the interview, I was told that was going to get my card in ten days, But surprise: after a week since the intewrview, I got a letter where I was told I had to have my biometrics taken, code 2. I had my biometrics taken last year in June for my EAD, so they should already have them, just like in your case. Why are they making things so hard? I am very frustrated and upset because of this, I really do not undertand why the officer at the interview told me I was goona have my GC in ten days. And their customer service on the phone is, how should I put this, very poor. Those people don't have any clue about what they should do.
Can you give me some advice or shed some light on my situation? Thanks a lot.

Dont get depressed. Comply with everything whatever they are asking you to do. You dont have any other option. Your GC is at the last stage and probably you will get it in a month or so.
Whatever is happening with you is the lack of co-ordination between different govt agencies. So be calm and happy as the process is almost over.
If it take a little longer then you can get an appointment with infopass and ask them whats going on. But I would recommend to wait a while and dont panic.

Good Luck.

Mimimimi,

Don't be discouraged, you're almost there :) !! INS is really not professional sometimes. They mess up with our files so easily, but when WE forget to send something to them, it's RFE right away... Do the fingerprints, and wait patiently, you'll see your GC will come very soon !!
Good luck to you !

Good luck to you!

Gc

Hi Emma,
Congratulations a lot. Enjoy!
I had my interview on 15th Feb, 06 in Hartford, CT and the officer said that I will get my GC in 2-3 weeks and stamped my PP.
There is no update of status and no welcome letter or GC.
Do you think I should call them or wait...how long?

Best Wishes,
Vital

Thank you all !!

Vital2006, I would say to wait patiently. You are probably going to receive the welcome letter and GC at the same time ;) !! Don't call them because they'll tell you certainly to wait and if nothing happens in 2 or 3 months, to call again  !!
Good luck to you :) !!

Congratulations Ema!! Thats great news! You already got your greencard and in my case, my status hasn't even changed on USCIS! I am so worried, cuz they took my I-94, EAD and AP and did not even stamp my passport. I guess I'll have to wait 30 days before I can call them :(

But anyways, you have fun! Take care.

Thanks Meers,

Maybe you could make an infopass appointment to see if they can stamp your passport. I was surprised when the INS officer stamped mine (he did not even asked if I wanted to) and told me the GC will arrive in 2 weeks. It really depends on the DO. Be patient, it'll come ;) !!
