i recieved a yellow notice from ins requesting new G 325 a and medical examination,

my question is ,if i got GC this year ,will the issuing date on the card will be the date you were granted asylum or the date your GC was approved

if yous answer is the date i was granted asylum i wil be happy to hear it because i was granted asylum feb 2000,so i can apply for citizenship this year


if your answer is the date my GC was approved i will be crushed,

for years i thought asylees GC will have the issuind date when asylum was granted

The answer is neither. The GC will be backdated by 1 year from your GC approval date. So suppose your GC gets approved on Sept 15, 2005, then your GC issue date will be Sept 15, 2004. to answer your question gc is backdated one year from I485 approval
