I have read the instructions for filing a petition for alien fiancee. I met my fiancee online, we have never met personally. Have any of you met your fiancee online from another country and filed a petition for your fiance or fiancee? I am a American born citizen. I would really appreciate if any of you could give me some information on how to go about this.

In the instruction on how to file the petition for Alien Fiancee, question 5. What documents do you need to prove you can legally marry? 5(a). It states that if you haven't met within the last two years, to provide a detailed explanation and evidence of the extreme hardship or customary, cultural or social practices which have prohibited your meeting. What kind of evidence and documents can I use from meeting someone online?

5(b). Original statements from you and your fiancee whom you plan to marry within 90 days of her admission, and copies of any evidence you wish to submit to establish your mutual intent. How do I go about doing this?

Thanks

Well my fiance and I met via a friend. But we had a long distance relationship for over 1year. Our application was just approved by INS.

You will need visit your fiance or have her visit you. Make sure keep all the coorspondance, letters, cards and phone bills.
Take tons of pictures. One thing I did for my fiance is I made him a picture book of our vacation together. Pictures of when we told his parents of us. I called it the love book of memories.

To answer you question:

You will need to met your fiance in person, and provide proof that you did( plane tickets, hotel receipts) ....also take pictures of the two of you together. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

Good luck

Fiance Visa

Your are required to have met in person at least once in the past two years and be able to prove it. the only way around this is through extreme hardship. For example neither of the two of you can afford to travel, or a physical disability not allowing you to travel. I have done thousands of k-1 visas for my clients, if you would like help from an experienced immigration paralegal please call 410-404-6813
