Dear Friends:

I just sent my appeal to VSC

Right now, I need a good lawyer who is expert in OR/NIW. Ideally, his/her office is located in the areas covered by VSC. Thank you very much!

How much the visalaw will cost?

Der Unitednations :

I just contact visalaw firm, they need consultation fee, which is 250 dollars. Do you have any idea how much it cost? I mean concurrent filing for OR/NIW?
If it is too expensive, I will not choose them and thus do not need to pay consultation fee. Thank you very much for your kind reply

Looks like the lawyer I used is not very expensive; I think I paid about 3500 for NIW (I-140 only), and maybe 400 for appeal. Maybe they are more expensive now.
I can give you their e-mail if you want. You can e-mail them or call if you want and ask for estimate. They gave me estimate without any consultation fee. They even I think gave me some advice about filing category.
They are in CA but I think it does not matter. I never was in their office; all contacts were by e-mail/phone/fax.
I like the fact they charged me what they promised (we signed agreement before they started working on my file), and they even never charged me additional fees like fedex etc. like others did..

Niagara,

For OR, the biggest hurdle is to prove that your position is permanent...that's where most of applications are failing these days. I believe with your qualifications OR would be a better bet. Try also looking at AAO decisions when you judge which path to choose.

Hi Niagara99,
My lawyer was Sean Walgren, his e-mail: swalgren@imm-law.com

Office info:
Law Office Of Helga M. Carson
Practice Limited to Immigration Law
399 Sherman Ave., Ste. #8, Palo Alto, CA 94306
Tel.: 650-326-9880 Fax: 650-326-9881 E-Mail: hcarson@imm-law.com
Attorneys: Helga Carson, & Sean Walgren

I am not sure if his phone is same as office, I may have it somewhere but you just can e-mail him or call to the office. He did I-140 for me and appeal (approved), and I did I-485 myself. He offered me 50% discount (for OR) if I would do both, NIW + OR, but I decided not to do OR in addition since my employer was not reliable, so I just did NIW only...

Good luck!
