Nope.
First of all, you do not lose the status automatically. A CBP officer has to stop you, notify you to appear in front of a judge, and then the judge does it. If CBP does not stop you, you still have your status.
Second, one trip of 6-7 months does not cause so much trouble, but a pattern of staying outside US and just making short trips to retain residency will cause problem. In fact, if there are multiple trips like that, they may not care whether the person was out for 6 months, or 5...
