Hi all,

As you can see in my time line that I got approved last 8/17 and I485 card prod ordered on the 18th and I485 card prod again on the 20th. I received my welcome letter and I130 approval. Though I had my mails forwarded to NY since I just moved back here 2 weeks ago and I filed my AOS in GA but all my mails came through in NY even my I130 was sent to my NY address and ever since then I've been waiting for my GC in the mail but up to this day, it hasn't come yet. It's been 2 weeks and 3 days already and some people in the forum get theirs in a week or two. This is really bothering me.

Oh and btw, to those who received their GCs recently, did it say in the USCIS envelope "return service requested"? coz if it did then my card might have been returned to USCIS.

Any idea? advice?

Hi all,

Just an update.

It turns out that my GC was already in the mail days after I left my GA address since I had changed my address with USPS a week before I left GA and had my mails forwarded temporarily in NY. My husband just got back in GA yesterday and confirmed that my GC was there with our spam mails so he'll be mailing my GC to me today :) yayyy!!!

Lesson: don't leave nor have your GC forwarded coz there is a big chance of it getting messed up!

Thanks everyone!!! I'll see you in N-400 :)

I don't think you need your GC to live in NYC, do you? You husband should keep the card with him until he comes to see you in NY soon. Just for safety reasons and to make sure, the mail man doesn't misplace it in your new neighbor's mailbox, I mean the lady with a long hair, 15 cats and is always at the mailbox in your apt? :) Congratulations!!!

Greatest,

I understand, but I thought the currency which ensure things get done in NYC is meanness and nasty attitude? Hence I am surprised you are taking a nice approach about how to get your SSN and DL issued, my experience there is if you yell at people, have scowl in your face like you just had someone's liver, then people are more willing to do what you want...

I am sure GA changed you to become a charming person... :D
