this is Canada immigration discussion.you do not have sense where to post your concern anyway let me clear it.
Your Employer can file any time for your Green card if he wishes, GC has 3 steps, LC,I-140, I-485 or AOS or CP.
Chances depend on many things, education, employer, where it is filled which catagory and if you can keep the job and do not do any illegal activities, and so many other things, spend 200$ meet some immigrant lawyer he will answer to your questions. if you have 2 years left on your H1b and employer now files for the first step of your GC which is LC in RIR , I hope you will be able to get your GC, If you do not leave the employer and your employer does not fire you and can keep your job on H1b and your company is not closed down.

When Employer can file for Immigration or Green card for h1b visa holder(employee) ?
What would be the chanses of getting Green card or Immigration for H1b Visa holder ? At what stage of processing we expect maximum chances of getting Green card or Immigration ? Pls guys gave me your exp & opinion .
