I have a problem with the lawyer

I start this thread and would like to discuss with those people who have problems with their lawyers. I have heard a lof of horible stories about the unethical lawyers. Is there anyone knows what shall we do with them? Specifically, I have a few questions here,
1) I know I can report the lawyer to the local lawyer association. The question is, what will happen after that? Will this be considered as a complaint or law sue? Do I need to be in the court?
2) I am the person who payed the lawyer. But based on the law, the lawyer just contacted with the company and filed the immigration case on behalf of the company. So is there any problem for me to face in this situation?
3) How long may such a case go?

There is a thin border between adventure and foolishness. I would advise not to do anything.

You could complaint at states bar association. It'll be a complaint, not a law suit. You won't have to go to a court.

LCs are not filed by candidates, but by companies. A lawyer cannot file LC or I-140 on your behalf, even if you're paying.

Before taking any action, you have to be very clear exactly how the lawyer committed malpractice.

If you file a lawsuit, you'll have to prove the damages. You can only have a case if you can prove that:

a: Lawyer broke some specific law
b: You incurred $$$$ in loss due to malpractice by the lawyer

And you damages better be in the range of $100,000 or more. Less than that, and you'll not break even in your expenses. Lawsuits are expensive games.
