Hi to all,

I got married to an USC one year ago and also got my 2 year green card through marriage last month from the San Francisco Service Center. We are living in California. I am an artist and want to go to New York for my work and my husband wants me to go too and search there for my possibilities. And later on he might join me if I succeed or I might go back to California, that is why he doesnt want to leave his job in CA right now.
Does anybody know about the do's and dont's during the 2 year period untill we apply for my ten year green card.
For example work, rent, health services, education, tax filing, etc.

You are free to move....

Soe,

Congratulations. The dont's are many, like killing a deer during the "no deer killing week" in NY.... :D

You can move out of CA to another state, the only requirement with USCIS is that you notify them of your new address. Form AR 11, complete it and send it via certified mail. You can apply for removal of conditions anywhere in the US, as long as USCIS has been notified of your new residency.

It is simple with what is expected of you: stay married and enjoy life in the US, don't beat your spouse, put away weed till you become a citizen, also don't engage is espionage

You husband can remain in CA while you search for greener pastures in New York, if successful he can join you. In applying for removal of conditions, USCIS looks for continuing marital status of you two, and living in 2 states for a long period (1yr) could make USCIS suspicious and you could be called for an unnecessary interview. :o However, for a short time (eg, 3 months before he join you), I will bet on you being fine. KEYS: send lots of evidence of your life when applying for removal of conditions and your 10 yrs card will be issued
