Here is a summary of my events so far:

I-485 employment based transfered to Houston local office August 29, 2006. My interview was on April 20th, 2007. April 24th I get an approval letter from local office. May 10th I get called in for the fingerprint needed to go on the card. June 7th my case arrives at TSC (per InfoPass). Today July 5th (a month later mind you) I get this:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS that was transferred to our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location is now pending there. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. So does this mean I have to stand in line AGAIN? My understanding per InfoPass was that my case was transfered to TSC because that's where they make the Green Cards. Since my case is already approved (approval at local office) shouldn't I have received an email saying my case was approved?

Has anyone experienced this? I've written letters to Senator Cornyn, the Director of TSC, etc. What's next for me? Do I have a visa allocated to me?

Also, approvals from local offices generally don't get an approval email or online status showing the approval.

Get your passport stamped, then work on getting the physical card.

Cougargal - i guess you should do a PP stampning before they change their mind ( The logical system and the database system - both are crappy with ins)

Thanks everyone for your response unfortunately Houston wouldn't stamp my passport. Apparently it's not a general practice here anymore. It seems that since TSC is "so quick" in the turn around time for the green card, they no longer feel the need to stamp. When I went to my Infopass appointment two weeks ago I asked for my passport to be stamped but I was turned down immediately. I'm planning on going back next week and hopefully speak to a higher-up.

You will have to be very assertive and emphasize that you have already been waiting more than 2 months. They will initially tell you to leave, but don't leave until you can explain that fact to them.
