We had no choice.
We've already spent 6.5K and we still need to come up with 5K.
Basically it boils down to the finances. How can we afford to pay a lawyer over 6K when only one of us works. In this economy??...so we thought long and hard and decided to get rid of her. We are gonna do all the research ourselves. I pray to God that this doesn't adversely impact our case before the judge. I am sure he won't be the least bit sympathetic at the fact that we just lack the financial means.
I wish hubby could find a job, but it's just not the case.

Your/hubby's case may be salvageable, but it sounds like he is in some serious hot water, and I think you need a lawyer.

Can you find a lawyer who will take your case pro bono, or on a sliding scale, or work with you as to the costs? Since your husband isn't working right now, surely he can spend whatever time it takes--12 or 16 hours a day if necessary--to find a lawyer who can represent you in time for the next hearing?

And make sure you play by the rules until the hearing. Ordinarily I would assume this would be common sense, but it seems to bear repeating given that he was still breaking the rules--by driving without a license--even after getting married. No working without permission, no driving without permission, etc.

Yeah I agree, he def. should be doing much research now to see if we can find a pro bono attorney.
As far as the driving w/o a license goes, as much as one tried to avoid driving, it's almost impossible not to. He got pulled over 2 blocks from home on his way home from getting some food. plain bad luck really. and yea, we are avoiding getting him in any kind of trouble from now on.
