Frustrating experience.
I got my interim EAD done in Charlotte office after about 6 hour wait. Me and my wife got this done together. They asked for copies of EAD receipt and 485 receipt. I had to fill up a new application for EAD, just one page long.
It only takes less than 15 minutes for the process but because of INS efficiency, they made me wait for more than six hours after accepting the applications. The interim EAD issued is valid for 240 days from yesterday and the officer said I will also receive the EAD from TSC whenever they expedite my original application. That EAD will be valid for one year the date of expiry of orinal EAD.
My advice - You don't have to arrive very early. Plan to be there by 8AM and plan to spend the entire day. Pack some sandwich and get a bottle of water. Download an EAD application from the web and fill it up before hand. Don't go if you are not out of 90 day period.
