I went yesterday to get I-EAD.I applied for my EAD on 2nd Jan .My current EAD is going to expire on 30th May.
Reached Newark at 5:15 AM by train
Cab $5 fixed to broad street office
Already 15-20 people in queue
Shivering cold
I stood in queue with nice Chinese man (Hindi chini bhai bhai ) and our wives waited in near by Duncan Donuts till 6:45 AM
It is advisable to take car so wife can sit in car
7:45 entered into building
8:30 AM paper checked on 2nd floor
8:45 AM went to room number 1300
waited waited till 11:45 PM
called name officer checked all information on form
sent to another room for photo and fingerprinting
again waited for 30 minutes
photograph and fingerprinting done..
again waited out for about 15 min got our card
NOTE:
Our EAD is expiring on May 30th, so there is actually more than a month to go So the officer asked us if we really needed interim EAD We had also met another applicant who was sent back because he had come to early (after completion of 90 days but a month before his card expired, just like us).We were worried that they will send us back but we were lucky and got the interim EAD.We told them that we needed to have our driver license renewed a month before it expires and it depends on EAD.
