I do not know why...

I do not know why I am posting this....

Now its over a month, NSC has not updated its processing times.
I am not ready to see an update with I-485 date as 08/22/2001.
I cannot keep myself quite if there is no update.

Prepare yourself

for another disappointment. The date first changed to 8/1/01 on 11/15/2002 and stayed that way until 4/15/03. It changed to 8/22/01 on that day, so it has been only three and a half months at 8/22/01 vs. 4 months at 8/1/2001. Given all the gloomy news about slowdowns and re-allocation of resources to other "product lines" I would not be surprised to see it linger on at 8/22/2001 for another couple of months.

Hopefully, the NSC would prove me wrong. How I would love to see it move, maybe even creep up to 9/15/01, given that my RD is 9/13/01.

To avoid another disappointment,

just assume all of those posted dates are "complete garbage".

If those dates are correct, how come there are so many approvals for RD's of Oct, Nov, and Dec 2001 ??

I assume you guys must have read the news about BCIS slowing down on 458-EB processing as they're prioritizing Asylum and Religious workers applications in this current fiscal year (which will end in Sept 30, 2003). It's mentioned in this forum and in Rupnet again and again and again....

Thus, checking on the BCIS processing times before Oct 01, 2003 is a waste of time. Don't expect it will pick up or accelerate until sometimes after 10/01/03. Even that there's no guarantee that they won't shift resources again to another application types as this possibility is mentioned in the news bulletin.

Now, that is sad.... as the saying goes.... an idleman's mind is a devil's workshop.

Try to keep busy with something other than this obsession with acquiring a green card. I do not know what your personal situation is, but we are all prone to overstating its importance. If you are a programmer (like most seem to be in these forums), and have free time, look up some open source code that strikes your fancy and hack it. Who knows, maybe you will be the next Linus!

:p

Wonder how long Linus Torvalds had to wait for his Green Card ?

When I was thinking about applying for labor , someone told me or maybe I read it somewhere that Mr. Torvalds had to go thru the same harrowing experience when he was in his I-485 stage :p
