Hi all,
I came today from my interview in Charlotte and I am happy to say that the whole experience was very pleasant. The officer was very courteous and polite and did his job professionally. He made us take the oath and then asked for 2 PP photos, passports, driving licences and social security cards. then he proceeded to take our index finger prints and we signed some kind of form (At that moment I knew he was going to approve our cases) then he asked me and my wife standard questions (Any criminal records, organizations,..) after that he took the I-94's and went to get us visa's and came back and stamped our passports and explained to us the power of the stamp and he said it is taking 2 months to get the physical cards but he said you never know.
It has been a long long journey starting from 1997 and till now from F1 to H1 and then EAD and I think all of us know how stressfull the whole process can be. At every single minute during all these years I was asking myself: is it really worth it? and today with all that is happening around us I think it was well worth it. I am happy I got it but after that it is like every thing else.
I got immigration to Canada at some point but I turned it down since I could not find any job in Canada and I was not ready to work at minimum wage to live there and every time we submited a job search whether it is for my wife or myself, it was like one university or company in the US has many more jobs than all job positions (in that category) in Canada from coast to coast so we decided to stay here and take a chance and thanks God it all worked out well at the end.
For all of you still waiting for their interviews or approvals, hang in there your day will come soon. Thanks for all members in these great forums, I really benefited a lot from all posts here. I will be here checking out these forums and trying to help where I can.
Thanks,
Spartakus
