Dear Friends,
My wife is a US citizen but lives in India for last 5 years along with her brother (US Citizen) and parents (Green Card Holders). I am Indian citizen married her last week only. After marriage, we decides to go to US to live. I have B1 visa to US till March 2004. My questions are:
1) While applying for my immigration, she would have to fill “Affidavit of Support” (I-864). But as she is living in India, she does not have any income. Can she sponsor me Jointly with her Friends/Distance relatives (her uncles/aunties living in US)? Or is there any way, we could avoid the Affidavit of Support?
2) If I come to US along with my on my B1 visa, and we marry again in local court in US, would it give me immigration status to live and work in US or I would have to go back to India to apply again?
3) If none of the above route is easier, which one do you suggest so that we can live togather in US?
